Recycling Dumpster

The massive amounts of wastes produced everyday are overwhelming.  They also cause water, land and air pollution.  That is why there is a need for proper waste management to try to reduce the bad effect of wastes to the environment.  Some of the more common methods employed are containing wastes in dumps and landfills, burning them in incinerators and recycling. Recycling is the process of converting an already used item, generally considered to be garbage, to something that is useful.

Recycling trash is made easier with the availability of a recycling dumpster.  These are dumpsters specifically intended to collect, contain and transport recyclable materials from their point of origin to the recycling centers for processing.  Recycling dumpsters can be found in parks, schools, public facilities, business establishments and even in your neighborhood.

Identifying recycling dumpster

Usually, a separate recycling dumpster is provided for each type of recyclable material, such as paper, glass, plastic and metal. Many waste management services require individuals to segregate their recyclables first before dumping them on the recycling dumpsters to save on sorting costs. For easier identification, these recycling dumpsters are properly labeled, usually with the symbol for recycling consisting of three chasing arrows that form an unending loop, and with the 3 R’s that mean reduce, reuse and recycle.
Recycling dumpsters may also be color-coded differentiating one from the other based on the type of recyclable materials they contain.  For instance, green dumpsters are for paper and paper products, blue for plastics and metals and so on.

Locating recycling dumpster

When you know what recycling dumpsters look like, the next thing you need to do is to find one.  As much as possible, you need to locate one that is near you or one that does not necessitate you to travel far and waste time and gas.  The proximity of the recycling dumpster will encourage you to continue with your recycling efforts.

  • Scout the neighborhood.  The neighborhood is the ideal place for you.  Drive around your subdivision or nearby areas to look for recycling dumpsters.  If you live in an apartment building, maybe there is one already available on site.

  • Visit schools and local government buildings. Typically, recycling dumpsters are located in areas with concentrated population such as in schools and local government compounds. This is one of the government’s ways of raising awareness and encouraging recycling.

  • Inquire from the local government.  If you fail to see any recycling dumpsters in your neighborhood, in school and local government vicinities, contact your local government and inquire about the recycling program or ask directly where the recycling receptacles are located.

  • If you do not succeed in locating recycling dumpsters by driving around the neighborhood and asking the city hall, you may contact recycling centers or dumpster rental companies to ask if they have placed recycling vessels in your district.

If you found out that there are none, this shouldn’t stop you from recycling.  You have the option to deliver your recyclables to the recycling centers yourself.  Or, you may work with your neighbors and agree to rent a recycling dumpster and hire the services of dumpster rental companies for your neighborhood or village.  Renting one is more affordable this way.
