Dumpster Rental Price
The dumpster rental price you get when quoted is comprised of many things. Understanding everything that goes into your price will help you to know if you are getting the best rate and will allow you to shop around for a better one. Dumpsters are used for virtually every kind of waste and will keep it safely stored away until it is ready to be picked up.
Special events, outdoor festivals, construction sites and day to day businesses all need dumpsters. Without it, there is loose trash everywhere and unsightly trash bags stacked up. It would lead to safety hazards, pollution, fines and more. Trash has a home; that home is a dumpster. While a dumpster is required, though, that doesn’t mean that you have to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to rent one. Not if you don’t have to.
Dumpster Rental Price Based on Size
Finding the right size for the right job will keep costs of the dumpster down to a minimum. Whether you need the dumpster permanently or temporarily, you’ll want the right size. Too small and you’ll end up with trash on the outside of the dumpster – the very reason you got one in the first place. Too large and you’ll have a lot of wasted area. Once you’ve decided on how much trash you will be placing into the dumpster, you can determine the right size. Many companies will even help you with the size you will need.
Different companies will offer different size units. Some specialize in mini dumpsters where others are geared more towards the very large construction site style dumpsters. The equipment they need to deliver such a dumpster is different when the sizes range from a 2 yard dumpster all the way to the large 50 yard styles. A dumpster rental price will vary quite dramatically between these sizes.
Dumpster Rental Prices Based on Purpose
Waste is not created equally. There are many different kinds of waste that you could potentially discard, including:
- Construction & demolition waste
- Green waste (plants and brush)
- Recyclable (cardboard, glass, metal)
- General mixed waste (including food waste)
Not all areas will offer all of the different kinds of waste, so you may end up throwing out recyclables into a general mixed waste bin. These kinds of decisions should be made only after you find out what is available. There are often tax breaks and the ability to call yourself “green” if you do recycle, which means you would need a separate bin. You may also then be able to get away with a smaller mixed waste bin if cardboard and other things are going into a separate dumpster.
Understanding everything that you will be throwing away will ensure that you get an affordable dumpster rental. Discarding trash doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive, but you need to know what you’re looking for before you start calling companies. Only then can you get the best rate for yourself or your company.
